Done...

It took me all of about 10 minutes to scan and color this picture, and the SWF file is 13kb. Wow! That is so much better than a huge raster image in Photoshop, and I could stretch this thing out to the size of a football field without losing quality! I hope these basic ideas have helped you a little; here's a little more food for thought:

TRY this:
-Color in your lines! Why stick with black? The lines can be filled with the paint bucket in any color.

-Experiment with different inking tools for more interesting lines!

-A pressure-sensitive Wacom tablet makes most of these tools (certainly the paintbrush) about 9 million times more awesome, and it's cheaper than any of the software! Unless, of course, you buy one of those huge Cintiq 21UX screens. Incidentally, if you're an eccentric millionaire, please buy me one of those.
